About Appliance Experts 365

When a refrigerator stops cooling, a washer won't drain, or an oven won't hold temperature, you need someone who can diagnose the actual problem — not just swap parts until something works. Appliance Experts 365 provides licensed, insured appliance repair across Tacoma, Kent, Renton, Federal Way, Puyallup, and the wider South Puget Sound region, covering refrigerators, freezers, built-in refrigerators, ice makers, wine coolers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, range hoods, and warming drawers.

We work on most major residential appliance brands, and our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification for refrigerant handling — required for any repair involving Freon or other refrigerants. Every repair starts with a real diagnosis, followed by a written quote before any work begins, and closes with a warranty on parts and labor. With over 10 years of hands-on repair experience, we've seen most of what can go wrong with a residential appliance, and we fix it the first time whenever we can.

Troubleshooting

Common Appliance Problems We Fix

These are the calls we handle most often. If your symptom is listed here, we've almost certainly diagnosed and fixed it before.

Refrigerator & Freezer Not Cooling

The fridge feels warm, the freezer isn't holding temperature, or the unit runs constantly without ever reaching set point. Usually the cause is a failing condenser or evaporator fan, a struggling compressor, or a defrost system that isn't cycling correctly. We test each component in order rather than replacing parts on a guess.

Ice Maker Not Working

No ice, slow ice production, or ice that comes out hollow or clumped together. The most common causes are a blocked or failing water-inlet valve, a frozen fill tube, or a worn-out harvest mechanism. We check the water supply and the ice maker module before replacing anything.

Door Won't Seal or Frost Is Building Up

A refrigerator or freezer door that won't close tightly lets warm air in, driving up frost buildup and energy use. We check the door gasket and hinge alignment, and — if frost is excessive — the defrost heater and thermostat, common culprits behind a frost-free freezer that isn't.

Wine Cooler Won't Hold Temperature

Temperature drift, over-freezing, or a unit that just isn't cooling are the most common wine cooler complaints. A failing thermistor or a struggling compressor is usually to blame. We calibrate and repair to protect what's inside.

Washer Leaking, Not Draining or Not Filling

Water on the floor, a tub that won't drain, or a washer that never fills point to a failing door or tub seal, a clogged or broken drain pump, or a faulty water-inlet valve. We trace the water path to find exactly where it's failing.

Washer Won't Agitate, Won't Wash, or Shows an Error Code

A washer that fills and drains but won't agitate or complete a wash cycle often has a worn drive component or a control board issue. Error codes on the display point us to the likely subsystem before we open the cabinet.

Dryer Not Heating or Not Spinning

Clothes coming out barely warm, taking multiple cycles to dry, or a drum that won't turn are classic signs of a failed heating element, a worn belt, or a bad thermal fuse. We also check the exhaust vent, since restricted airflow mimics a heating problem.

Dryer Unresponsive or Showing Error Codes

A dryer that won't turn on, has unresponsive controls, or displays an error code usually points to the control board, door switch, or a wiring issue. We read the code, test the related components, and confirm the fix before closing it up.

Dishwasher Leaking, Not Draining or Not Filling

Puddles under the dishwasher, standing water at the end of a cycle, or a wash that never starts because the tub won't fill are usually traced to a door seal, a clogged drain path, or a faulty water-inlet valve.

Oven Not Heating, Heating Unevenly, or Showing Error Codes

An oven that won't heat, won't broil, takes too long to preheat, cooks unevenly, or trips a breaker can point to a failed heating element, a bad temperature sensor, or a control board fault. We verify actual cavity temperature against the display rather than trusting the readout.

Range or Cooktop Won't Ignite, Sparks Continuously, or Smells Like Gas

A burner that clicks but won't light, a burner that keeps sparking after it's lit, or any smell of gas needs prompt attention. We check the igniter, burner cap alignment, and gas valve — and treat a gas odor as a safety issue first, repair second.

Range Hood Fan Not Working or Warming Drawer Not Heating

A range hood fan that won't start or has become noisy is usually a motor or switch issue restricting kitchen ventilation. A warming drawer that won't heat is almost always the heating element or its thermostat. Both are typically same-visit repairs.

What We Repair

Appliances We Repair

From refrigeration to laundry to cooking appliances, we repair most major residential brands. Select a category below to see what we cover.

Refrigerators, Freezers & Wine Coolers

Professional Repair

We repair standard, side-by-side, French-door, and built-in refrigerators, along with standalone and built-in freezers, undercounter ice makers, and wine coolers. Most calls trace back to a handful of root causes: a struggling compressor or condenser fan, a failing thermistor or defrost system, a worn door gasket, or a water-inlet valve that's stopped feeding the ice maker. We diagnose the actual fault before recommending a fix, on both freestanding units and cabinetry-integrated built-in models.

Key Features & Services

  • ✓ Refrigerator & built-in refrigerator repair
  • ✓ Freezer repair, including defrost & frost buildup
  • ✓ Ice maker diagnosis & repair
  • ✓ Wine cooler temperature calibration
  • ✓ Door seal, gasket & thermostat replacement
  • ✓ Fan motor & condenser coil service

Washers & Dryers

Professional Repair

Top-load, front-load, and stacked washer/dryer units tend to fail at the same handful of points: water-inlet valves, drain pumps, door seals, belts, heating elements, and control boards. We work on gas and electric dryers and diagnose everything from a washer that won't drain to a dryer that runs but never actually dries a load.

Key Features & Services

  • ✓ Washer leaks, drainage & fill issues
  • ✓ Washer not agitating, spinning or washing properly
  • ✓ Dryer not heating or not spinning
  • ✓ Gas & electric dryer repair
  • ✓ Error code diagnosis on digital control panels

Dishwashers

Professional Repair

Dishwasher calls are almost always about water: it's leaking somewhere it shouldn't, it isn't filling, or it isn't draining. We check inlet valves, drain pumps and hoses, spray arms, and control boards to find the actual cause rather than guessing at parts.

Key Features & Services

  • ✓ Leaking water diagnosis & repair
  • ✓ Not draining / not filling with water
  • ✓ Spray arm & filter service
  • ✓ Control board & cycle diagnostics

Ranges, Ovens, Cooktops, Range Hoods & Warming Drawers

Professional Repair

Gas and electric ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, range hoods, and warming drawers each have their own common failure points — igniters and gas valves on ranges and cooktops, heating elements and temperature sensors in ovens, motors and filters in range hoods. We treat gas-related symptoms, like a burner that won't spark or a smell of gas, as urgent.

Key Features & Services

  • ✓ Range & oven not heating, or heating unevenly
  • ✓ Burner won't ignite, sparks continuously, or flame too high/low
  • ✓ Cooktop glass, controls & ignition repair
  • ✓ Range hood fan & motor service
  • ✓ Warming drawer heating element replacement
  • ✓ Error code diagnosis on digital ranges & ovens

Refrigerant & Freon Leak Repair

Professional Repair

When a refrigerator, freezer, or wine cooler runs constantly but never gets cold, a refrigerant leak is a common cause. Handling refrigerant legally requires EPA Section 608 certification, which our technicians hold. We locate the leak, repair or replace the affected component, and recover and recharge the system to the correct specification.

Key Features & Services

  • ✓ EPA Section 608 certified refrigerant handling
  • ✓ Leak detection on sealed refrigeration systems
  • ✓ Refrigerant (Freon) recovery & recharge
  • ✓ Compressor & sealed-system diagnostics

Smart Decision Making

Repair vs. Replace Guide

How we help you make the right financial and environmental choice for your home.

When Repair Makes Sense

Most appliance problems — a failed valve, a worn belt, a bad control board, a refrigerant leak — are fixable, and repair is almost always less expensive than replacement, especially for appliances under 8-10 years old.

The Sustainable Choice

Repairing an appliance instead of replacing it keeps a large, resource-intensive product out of the landfill and avoids the cost and footprint of manufacturing a new one. When a fix is realistic, it's usually the better choice for your budget and the environment.

When We'll Recommend Replacement

If an appliance is old enough that parts are hard to source, or the repair would cost half or more of the price of a comparable new unit, we'll tell you honestly rather than performing a repair that doesn't make financial sense. Our goal is the right long-term outcome for you, not just a completed job.

"I had my cooktop, oven go out on me and did a ton of research on what could be the problem. So before I went ahead with spending a ton of money for a NEW range, I hired appliance repair Pro’s to check it out and confirm my suspicions. They sent Russel who texted me to make sure it was ok to show up a little early which was AWESOME. He promptly showed up and did a quick look at the problem and assured me that my suspicions were correct. We discussed options and his view as to what seemed to work well amongst other things that would help me out. Although there was nothing he could do, my circuit board was fried, his insight and professional knowledge was very helpful and set my wife on the path for choosing a new range. Thanks Russel for your expertise and prompt service. Much appreciated."

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does appliance repair cost in Tacoma?

The diagnostic fee is quoted before a technician is dispatched, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the written quote. After diagnosis you get a written, itemized quote for parts and labor before any work starts, so the total is known before you commit. Most common repairs, such as a drain pump, heating element, igniter, inlet valve, or door gasket, cost a fraction of replacing the appliance; we tell you plainly when a repair is not worth it.

Do you charge a diagnostic fee?

Yes. The diagnostic fee is quoted before a technician is dispatched, and it is credited toward the repair when you approve the written quote. You're never charged twice for the same visit.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Tacoma, Kent, Renton & the South Puget Sound Area — 20 cities across Pierce County & South King County — including Tacoma, Kent, Renton, Federal Way, Auburn, Lakewood, Puyallup, Burien, and the surrounding communities. Each city has its own page under Service Areas with the neighborhoods and ZIP codes we cover.

Is Appliance Experts 365 licensed and insured?

Yes. Appliance Experts 365 is a registered DBA of Appliance Repair Pros LLC, a licensed and insured business operating in Washington State. License and insurance documentation is available on request before any visit.

Are you an authorized dealer for my appliance's brand?

No. We're an independent repair provider that services most major residential appliance brands. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by any manufacturer — brand names are used only to describe which appliances we work on.

What brands do you repair?

We repair most major residential appliance brands, including GE, Whirlpool, Maytag, LG, Samsung, Bosch, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Thermador, Viking, Miele and more. Rather than specializing in one manufacturer, our technicians diagnose and fix the wide range of refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, and ranges found in South Puget Sound homes.

Do you offer same-day appliance repair?

Same-day and next-day appointments are available in most of our service area, depending on the time you call and where you are. We're open Mon–Sun 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, seven days a week, and we confirm the visit window when you book.

Are you certified to handle refrigerant or Freon leaks?

Yes. Our technicians hold EPA Section 608 certification, the federal certification required to legally handle, recover, and recharge refrigerant in refrigerators, freezers, and wine coolers.

What appliances do you repair?

We repair refrigerators, freezers, built-in refrigerators, ice makers, wine coolers, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, ranges, cooktops, range hoods, and warming drawers.

Why is my refrigerator not cooling but the freezer works?

When the freezer is cold but the fresh-food section is warm, the two compartments are not sharing cold air. The usual causes are a failed evaporator fan motor, a frosted-over evaporator coil from a defrost problem (heater, thermostat, or control), or a stuck damper between the compartments. The compressor is usually fine in this case, which makes it one of the more affordable refrigerator repairs.

Is it worth repairing a 10-year-old refrigerator, washer, or dryer?

Usually, yes, if the fault is a common wear part: fans, thermostats, control boards, door seals, pumps, belts, igniters, and heating elements are all routine repairs. Refrigerators typically last 10–15 years, freezers typically last 12–20 years, washing machines typically last 10–13 years, dryers typically last 12–15 years, dishwashers typically last 9–12 years, so a 10-year-old unit often has years left. We recommend replacement when the compressor or sealed system fails on an older budget refrigerator, when the repair would cost half or more of the price of a comparable new unit, or when parts are no longer made. Figures are rounded from the National Association of Home Builders / Bank of America Home Equity 'Study of Life Expectancy of Home Components'.

How do I know if my refrigerator has a refrigerant (Freon) leak?

Common signs include the compressor running constantly without the unit getting cold, warm spots inside the fridge or freezer, a hissing sound near the coils, frost forming on only part of the evaporator coil, or unusually high energy bills. Diagnosing the leak does not require certification, but repairing it does: recovering and recharging the refrigerant must be done by a technician who holds EPA Section 608 certification.

What's your warranty on repairs?

Every completed repair is backed by a warranty on both parts and labor; the term is stated on your written quote. A repeat failure of the same issue within the warranty period doesn't mean a repeat bill.

Should I repair my appliance or replace it?

It depends on the appliance's age and the cost of the repair relative to a new unit. In most cases, especially for appliances under 8-10 years old, repair is the more economical choice. We'll give you an honest recommendation after diagnosis — including telling you when replacement makes more sense.

Make It Last

Preventive Care for Your Appliances

A few simple habits performed regularly go a long way toward avoiding breakdowns and extending the lifespan of your appliances.

Refrigerators & Freezers

Vacuum the condenser coils every six months and wipe down door gaskets monthly. Dust-clogged coils make the compressor work harder and shorten its life; a dirty gasket lets warm air sneak in.

Wine Coolers

Check the temperature display weekly — drift is often the first sign of a failing thermistor. Keep the vents clear of dust so the cooling system doesn't have to work harder than it needs to.

Washers

Leave the door or lid open between loads to prevent mold and odor buildup, and wipe out the detergent drawer monthly. Check supply hoses yearly for cracking or bulging.

Dryers

Clean the lint trap after every load, and have the exhaust vent professionally cleaned once a year. A blocked vent is both a fire risk and the most common cause of a dryer that runs but won't dry clothes.

Dishwashers

Remove and rinse the filter weekly to prevent odors and drainage problems, and run an empty hot cycle with a dishwasher cleaner monthly to keep spray arms and hoses clear.

Ranges & Cooktops

Wipe up spills once the surface has cooled, before they bake on. Keep burner caps and ports clear of debris — a misaligned or clogged cap is the most common cause of uneven flame and ignition trouble.

Ovens

Keep the door seal clean so heat doesn't escape during baking. Use the self-clean cycle sparingly — the high heat stresses the door lock and control board more than normal use does.

Range Hoods

Clean or replace the grease filter regularly. A clogged filter cuts ventilation performance and is a preventable fire risk over time.
